At lake Eibsee, you can go tobogganing any time of the year – with or without snow. During the summer, the toboggan-run in Garmisch is an absolute must and in the winter, you can race down the Hausberg in the glittering white snow.
In Europe's highest zoo, the 'Alpen Zoo' you can admire the fauna of the Alps. No other zoo in the world shows such a complete selection of wild animals of this region.
There is always something going on in the fun park 'Leutasch'. Adventures galore, you will get your money's worth. Torrential water features, boat jumps into the cold with the nautic jet or challenging go kart races to name just a few of the attractions.
‘AlpspiX’ with peak adventure trail
Almost 1000m down below lies the 'Höllentalklamm' gorge. Something you can only discover, if you dare to walk across the 13m long metal grid to the AlpspiX viewing platform on the 'Osterfeldkopf'. This is admittedly a test of courage for everyone, but the tingling sensation in your stomach is rewarded with a spectacular view of the breathtaking alpine panorama. The peak adventure trail is no less exciting providing fantastic views from the mountaintop. On this 700m trail you will discover the alpine world and get to know the flora, fauna and geology of the region.
Hiking to the ruins of Castle Werdenfels
The hike to the 'Burgruine Werdenfels' is short and easy – and for children exciting all the same. The tour is adventurous, running along a little stream, small trails and enchanted ruins. But foremost, the views across the 'Werdenfelser Land' are stunning.
The Zugspitz-Bowling center features 10 computerized alleys to enjoy a fun afternoon or evening with your family. Children's bowling as well as disco or cosmic bowling is also on offer. Disco music combined with fluorescent light shows on dimmed alleys will help you forget everyday life.
If the weather doesn't permit outdoor activities or you just want to climb with your children in a safe environment, you have to visit the 'Boulder-Halle' in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The local alpine club' Alpenverein' has established a climbing center for indoor rock climbing at jumping height (called bouldern).
