Family excursions
Excursions with the family around the Eibsee
Joint tours take you and your children to places where you can see nature in all its beauty. For example, discover the nature with its secrets and many little wonders on the forest adventure trail in Farchant, three kilometers away from Garmisch. Explore nature with all your senses at 18 stations on the forest adventure trail.
There is a lot to discover with us. Here is just a small selection of the excursion destinations that our tourist region has in store for you and your children.
Sledding time
in Grainau
With us there is sledding time at all times, with or without snow. In summer it is an absolute must to jet down into the valley on the summer toboggan run in Garmisch and to whiz through the fresh snow on the local mountain in winter.
Excursions
Leutasch Ghost Gorge
On the paths through the Geisterklamm (Kobold path and Klammgeist path) you can learn a lot about the legend about the Klammgeist. On modern paths, which are secured by a grid on both sides, you go deep into the ghost gorge.
Alpen Zoo in Innsbruck
Discover the alpine animal world in Europe's highest zoo, the Alpen Zoo in Innsbruck. No other zoo in the world shows such a complete collection of wild animals from our area.
AlpspiX
with summit adventure trail
It goes almost 1,000 meters deep to the bottom of the Höllental gorge. At least if you dare to walk the 13 m above the grating of the AlpspiX viewing platform at Osterfelderkopf. This is a test of courage for everyone - but opens up a spectacular view of the Alpine world. The summit adventure trail is no less impressive. This also promises sensational moments in height. On the 700 m long path you can get to know the surrounding mountains and learn about the flora, fauna and geology of the region.
Hike
to the castle ruins Werdenfels
The hike to the Werdenfels castle ruins is easy and short - and exciting for children at the same time. A small stream, narrow paths and the castle ruins themselves make a visit adventurous. You also have a wonderful view of the Werdenfelser Land and you can make a stop at the Werdenfelser Hütte to enjoy the typical Bavarian "Kaiserschmarrn".
Zugspitz-Bowling
in Garmisch-Partenkirchen
On the Zugspitzbowling course in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, you can practice your marksmanship on ten computer-controlled tracks and spend a sociable afternoon or evening with your family. In addition to children's bowling, there is also disco or cosmic bowling: on darkened lanes with fluorescent light effects on lanes, pins and balls as well as with hot music, everyday life is quickly forgotten.
Boulderhalle
Garmisch
If the weather does not invite you to open air activities or you just want to climb safely with your children, then a visit to the bouldering hall in Garmisch-Partenkirchen is worthwhile. The Alpine Club section has set up a climbing hall here, where you can practice climbing at the height of the jump (called bouldering).
